Accounts Payable Officer

The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will report directly to the chief accountant and collaborate with other departments to maintain strong vendor relationships. His/her responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, approval workflows, and timely payment processing.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements, addressing discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and documentation for payment processing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and maintaining accurate contact information.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, providing necessary reports and documentation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in UAE.
  • Experience in the F&B sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Officer or similar role.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
