Description:
CVP (Customer Value Partners) is seeking Medical Support Assistants to support Community Care scheduling operations for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) VISN 20. This remote opportunity focuses on coordinating healthcare services between Veterans, VA facilities, and community providers to ensure timely and effective patient care.
The selected candidate will perform medical reception and administrative duties, manage appointment scheduling, process healthcare referrals, maintain accurate patient records, and provide professional support to Veterans and healthcare teams. Candidates with experience in healthcare administration, medical terminology, and VA scheduling systems are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform receptionist and administrative duties, including appointment scheduling, customer service, document handling, and clinic support activities.
• Coordinate Community Care consults from intake through completion, including communication with Veterans and healthcare providers.
• Schedule appointments accurately using VA scheduling systems and ensure timely completion according to required standards.
• Review active and pending consults, waiting lists, and communication records to maintain accuracy.
• Support clinic access plans by adjusting appointments and coordinating alternative arrangements when required.
• Verify patient identity using approved procedures and maintain accurate demographic information.
• Collect, update, and process insurance information to support healthcare revenue operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation in CPRS and Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) systems.
• Handle phone calls, messages, patient concerns, and requests while following privacy procedures.
• Protect confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and federal regulations.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• English language proficiency.
• Minimum one year of experience in a complex clinical or healthcare administrative environment.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare coordination processes.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication abilities.
• Basic computer skills with ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to maintain professionalism when assisting Veterans with complex healthcare needs.
• US Citizenship required for government-sponsored background investigation.
• Experience with VA scheduling systems, CPRS, EHRM, and Electronic Waiting List is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Medical reception, patient scheduling, and healthcare administration.
• VA healthcare processes, medical records, and privacy requirements.
• Patient communication, documentation, and electronic health systems.
Shift Options:
• Monday – Friday (excluding federal holidays).
• 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM CST (Alaska Clinic Support).
• 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM CST (West Coast Clinic Support).
