Production Manager – Frozen bakery

Wonder Bakery is looking to recruit a seasoned bakery Production Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the smooth functioning of the bakery manufacturing operations and provide technical guidance and leadership to the manufacturing team producing several products across multiple bakery product categories namely viennoiserie, breads & Pastry.

Job Description

• Production planning /supervising all day to day production activities.
• Plan and direct operations to ensure production targets are met.
• Achieve key metrics like Food cost targets, waste % etc.
• New product development and quality improvement.
• Implement a continuous improvement culture in the team to drive cost optimization and enhance production efficiencies.
• Evaluating production efficiency (manpower/machinery) and adopting measures to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance.
• Monitor staff achievements, perform periodic performance appraisals, and provide guidance / coaching to direct reports in performing their delegated duties.

Requirements:

• 15 years of minimum experience in frozen bakery production of which last 5-6 years of experience as bakery production manager with a medium to large size frozen bakery manufacturer.
• Technically sound
• Experience working in a high volume production environment
• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Food science with specialization in bakery or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Food safety standards like HACCP, FSSC, BRC etc.
• Decision making / problem solving skills.
• Strong leadership skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
