Description:

We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant for our office in Dubai.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end VAT and CT compliance for the company’s operations in the UAE, ensuring accurate and timely submission of VAT returns, payments, and reconciliations
  • Oversee and review the preparation of tax calculations, ensuring compliance with UAE and KSA applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Provide expert advice on VAT, CT and WHT matters, including tax implications for business decisions, transactions, and projects
  • Conduct regular internal audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather required financial data and documentation for tax reporting purposes
  • Keep abreast of updates to UAE and KSA tax regulations, interpreting their impact on the business, and implementing necessary changes to stay compliant
  • Prepare and submit all required tax-related documentation and reports to relevant government authorities accurately and within stipulated deadlines
  • Handle any tax-related queries or audits from government agencies, representing the company professionally and ensuring a smooth resolution
  • Lead and mentor junior members of the tax team, fostering their growth and development in the field of taxation
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and assist in providing required documentation and explanations related to tax matters
  • Provide strategic input to optimize the company’s tax position, identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in tax accounting, with a significant focus on UAE VAT and tax regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE and KSA applicable tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to business scenarios
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing VAT returns, tax calculations, and related documentation
  • Excellent proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams, external auditors, and government authorities
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus
  • Prior experience working in UAE-based companies is highly preferred
