As a Sales Engineer (Pre-Sales), you will play a critical role in helping engineering teams evaluate, understand, and adopt Checkly. You will work closely with customers throughout the technical sales cycle, from initial demos to successful implementation, while also contributing insights to product and engineering teams to improve the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a technical expert on Checkly and the broader monitoring and observability space.
• Support prospects through the full pre-sales cycle including demos, technical evaluations, and proof-of-concept implementations.
• Collaborate directly with engineering teams at customer organizations to understand their needs and propose effective solutions.
• Build and deliver tailored demo environments and technical showcases using modern development tools and AI-assisted workflows.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to share customer feedback and influence product improvements.
• Contribute to enhancing technical documentation, internal processes, and customer onboarding materials.
• Participate in customer support during onboarding and occasionally assist with ongoing support cases.
• Develop deep expertise in Monitoring as Code, observability tools, and developer workflows.
Requirements and Skills:
• 3–5 years of experience in a Solutions Engineering or Pre-Sales Engineering role.
• Strong technical ability to read, write, and debug code (JavaScript/Node.js preferred).
• Experience in DevTools SaaS, observability, monitoring, or testing platforms is required.
• Ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) to enhance technical demos and customer solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Highly self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote-first environment.
• Strong customer empathy with a passion for solving real-world engineering problems.
• Proactive mindset with ownership of customer success and long-term relationships.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills.
• Must be located in the United States (ET or CT time zones preferred).
