This role is for a Payroll Consultant responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across different payroll cycles. The position requires strong technical payroll expertise, client management skills, and a deep understanding of compliance in a multi-state environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for multiple clients with varying payroll frequencies

• Validate and review payroll data including earnings, taxes, and deductions

• Manage off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, and adjustments

• Ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery

• Serve as primary payroll contact for assigned clients

• Provide payroll guidance and compliance support

• Maintain strong client relationships and satisfaction

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

• Support tax filings, W-2s, and year-end payroll activities

• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies

• Work with internal teams for issue resolution

• Maintain payroll system configurations and employee data

• Improve payroll processes and document SOPs

• Track billable hours and support workload management

Requirements:

• 3–5+ years of multi-client payroll processing experience

• Strong experience in multi-frequency payroll cycles

• Multi-state payroll tax knowledge required

• Experience with payroll systems (UKG preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively

• Excellent communication and client service skills

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Payroll processing and compliance

  • Multi-state tax regulations

  • UKG / ADP / Workday systems

  • Payroll reconciliation and audits

  • Year-end payroll processes (W-2s, filings)
