Description:
Jazal Engineering & Contracting is looking for a skilled Procurement Engineer – Civil to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of construction procurement experience with strong technical and commercial expertise in sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and finalizing subcontractors for civil construction projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with project, engineering, and quantity surveying teams to ensure procurement activities are completed efficiently while meeting project specifications, budgets, and timelines. Candidates with UAE construction experience and a strong understanding of civil works are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, source, and evaluate suppliers for civil materials and subcontractors based on project requirements.
• Review BOQs, engineering drawings, and project specifications to prepare tender enquiries and requests for quotations.
• Obtain subcontractor quotations and prepare detailed technical and commercial comparison reports.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, deviations, and cost implications during quotation evaluations.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, and quantity surveying teams to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, execution schedules, and commercial conditions with subcontractors.
• Finalize subcontractor selection in line with project budgets and timelines.
• Maintain procurement records, subcontractor databases, comparison statements, and award documentation.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction procurement with a focus on subcontractor procurement.
• Proven experience in sourcing, tendering, technical and commercial evaluation, negotiation, and subcontractor finalization.
• Good knowledge of civil construction works, BOQs, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• UAE construction experience is preferred.
• Experience in defence sector projects, specialized industrial facilities, warehouses, or shopping mall construction will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Construction procurement and subcontractor management.
• BOQs, civil drawings, and technical specifications.
• Tender evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract documentation.
