Description:

Mosaic Consulting Group is looking for an experienced Payroll Consultant to join its remote team. The role involves managing end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across different industries while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery.

The successful candidate will handle payroll operations, support client relationships, resolve payroll-related issues, manage compliance requirements, and improve payroll processes through efficient systems and automation. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for multiple clients with different pay schedules, including weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly cycles.

• Validate payroll data, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments.

• Review and balance payroll before final approval and submission.

• Manage off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, and payroll adjustments when required.

• Ensure accurate payroll processing and timely delivery according to client deadlines.

• Serve as the primary payroll contact for assigned clients and provide consultative support.

• Communicate payroll timelines, requirements, and issue resolutions clearly with clients.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Support tax filings, amendments, and year-end payroll activities such as W-2s and 941s.

• Audit payroll records, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll errors.

• Work with internal teams including tax, benefits, and HRIS teams for issue resolution.

• Use payroll systems such as UKG Pro, ADP, or Workday to manage payroll operations.

• Maintain payroll configurations, employee data, documentation, and standard operating procedures.

• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency.

• Track time accurately across clients and projects while meeting utilization targets.

Requirements:

• 3–5+ years of experience processing payroll for multiple clients.

• Strong experience managing multi-frequency payroll processing.

• Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax regulations.

• Experience using payroll systems, preferably UKG.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

• Experience in a managed services or consulting environment is preferred.

• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is an advantage.

• Year-end payroll experience including W-2s, audits, and corrections is preferred.

• Completed degree from an accredited university is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of:
