BrainWorks is seeking a highly skilled and detail-focused Payroll Analyst to support and enhance multi-state payroll operations for a large-scale organization operating across Healthcare and SaaS sectors. This role is designed for a professional who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll processing while working closely with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams in a fast-paced environment.

The organization manages a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees with significant annual revenue, requiring strong operational control, precision, and regulatory awareness. The Payroll Analyst will play a key role in maintaining payroll integrity, ensuring timely employee compensation, and supporting ongoing improvements in payroll systems and workflows.

This is a fully remote opportunity offering exposure to complex payroll structures, cross-functional collaboration, and high-impact financial operations within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle semi-monthly payroll processing across multiple U.S. states

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

• Maintain accurate payroll documentation and support audit readiness requirements

• Coordinate with payroll vendors and oversee system integrations and workflows

• Manage general ledger (GL) coding, departmental allocations, and grant-related payroll entries

• Review and audit W-2s and ensure payroll reporting accuracy and compliance

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and issue resolution

• Ensure accurate processing of wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits contributions

• Support continuous improvement initiatives for payroll systems and operational efficiency

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience with strong multi-state exposure

• Prior experience in Healthcare and/or SaaS industry environments preferred

• Hands-on experience with payroll platforms such as Paylocity and ClickTime

• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and accounting integration

• Knowledge of general ledger processes and financial reporting related to payroll

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and customer service orientation

• Ability to work cross-functionally with HR and Finance teams effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Workday or similar enterprise HR/payroll systems

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

• FPC or CPP certification is an added advantage
