Description:

A well-established trading and distribution company is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join its finance team. This role is ideal for accounting professionals with strong experience in accounts payable, SAP, and UAE VAT compliance who can efficiently manage supplier accounts and payment processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing payment proposals, and supporting month-end closing activities while ensuring compliance with company policies and UAE tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and post supplier invoices accurately using SAP.

• Prepare weekly and monthly payment proposals after obtaining the necessary approvals.

• Reconcile vendor statements and clear outstanding balances.

• Record import-related costs, including freight, customs duty, and clearing charges, against the appropriate BOE and Purchase Orders.

• Ensure the correct application of UAE VAT on purchase invoices, including reverse charge treatment for imports.

• Maintain vendor master records with complete and accurate supporting documentation.

• Follow up on supplier credit notes, debit notes, and pricing discrepancies.

• Prepare accounts payable aging reports and month-end accruals for unbilled purchases.

• Support internal and external auditors by providing AP schedules and relevant documentation.

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a UAE trading or distribution company.

• Hands-on experience with SAP FI-AP and SAP MM modules.

• Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good communication skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of:

• SAP FI-AP and MM modules

• UAE VAT regulations and accounts payable processes

• Microsoft Excel functions including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables
