Description:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Geoscientist (Geosteering) to join a dynamic Oil & Gas team in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting horizontal drilling operations by providing accurate geosteering analysis and real-time technical recommendations.
This position requires strong expertise in geological interpretation, drilling operations, and well planning. The ideal candidate should be capable of analyzing live subsurface data, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and making informed technical decisions to optimize well placement throughout drilling activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and optimize wellbore placement during horizontal drilling operations.
• Analyze real-time geological and drilling data to support operational decisions.
• Coordinate closely with geologists, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, and mud loggers.
• Provide technical recommendations throughout drilling operations to improve drilling performance and well placement.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Geosteering, preferably involving horizontal wells.
• Good understanding of drilling rig operations and directional drilling principles.
• Knowledge of mud logging practices and well planning.
• Ability to interpret real-time subsurface data and make technical decisions during drilling operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends when operationally required.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Geosteering techniques and horizontal drilling.
• Directional drilling operations and well planning.
• Geological interpretation, mud logging, and real-time drilling data analysis.
