The Coding Educator 2 identifies opportunities for the North East region to improve provider documentation and creates an education plan tailored to each assigned provider.
The Coding Educator 2 for the North East region reviews medical records and arranges educational sessions with providers aimed at quality of care and documentation improvements.
Virtual and in office 25% educating providers and office staff in NJ, DC, DE and MD, 75% work at home
Performs information sharing, collaboration and influences external provider group leadership and external provider staff
Collaborates with other departments such as Stars, Quality and Provider Engagement
Evaluates the office processes to provide solutions
Makes decisions on moderately complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications
Use your skills to make an impact
- (CPC) AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification
- 1+ year Risk Adjustment experience
- 1+ year Medical record review knowledge
- Zoom use and other virtual meeting training tools experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must reside in following states, NJ, DC, DE or MD
- Ability to problem solve complex issues
- Ability to guide business and leadership in process improvement
- This role is part of Humana’s Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits

Work-At-Home Requirements
- To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
- Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
- Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$59,300 – $80,900 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
