We are looking following candidates to join our team:

Camel Specialist / Camel Section Manager

Requirements:

  • University Degree / PG in veterinary 
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience with camels
  • Good Communication Skills
  • UAE Driving License

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor the camel raising systems
  • Provide technical advice on issues raised pertaining to camel health
  • Oversee animal health program: maintain the herd with the computerized record keeping for herd health and productivity
  • Ensure the farm maintains quality standards
  • Oversee feed budgeting and negotiate feed contracts to achieve production targets
  • Develop and maintain an organic pasture plan for all camels
  • Determine the nature of disease or injury by examining the diseased/ injured animal
  • Provide treatment for the disease on case-to-case basis
  • Provide and monitor necessary vaccinations
  • ·Will be responsible for obstetrical operations and taking care of the new-born camels
  • Must possess skills need to perform various medical procedures, e.g., spay/neuter and other minor surgeries, examination and treatment of various injuries and illnesses, pre- and post-operative care and monitoring of animals, etc.
  • Have the ability to teach/train staff, volunteers, and/or interns on matters of animal health, disease recognition and control, animal behavior, restraint, etc.
  • Must be able to use and understand medical software program and other basic equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot during times of increased disease and develop appropriate solutions;
  • Ability to help establish and maintain best practices regarding sanitation, health and animal well-being;
  • Work within best practice environmental guidelines
  • Farm Operation:
  • Coordinate with the Farm Manager (FM) to manage the daily financial and physical performance and operations of the camel farm through sustained leadership, management, technical and business skills.
  • Work with the FM to set and implement the short- and long-term business plans, for driving the business.
  • Work with the FM to develop and review the business plan and annual budget
  • Work with the FM to monitor seasonal expenditure in line with the budgeted cash flow
  • Work with the FM to develop and implement of an annual nutrient management plan
  • Provide training/coaching to direct reports to enable them to competently carry out tasks required of them
  • Conduct annual staff performance reviews of Camel Section
  • Identification and reporting of hazard/danger, accidents, near misses, and property damage related to Camel Section
  • Manage Farm production
