About The Role

Sortly is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable and Payable Specialist to manage and streamline our company’s financial transactions. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor payments, overseeing customer billing, and maintaining up-to-date financial records. Reporting directly into our Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Accounts Payable

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Process invoices, payments, and credit card transactions
  • Handle expense reports and ensure policy compliance
  • Prepare and analyze AP aging schedules
  • Set up vendors and ensure 1099 compliance
  • Manage AP inbox, vendor inquiries, and reconciliations

Accounts Receivable

  • Creating and issuing customer invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with sales & use tax reporting
  • Manage Accounts Receivable inbox and communicate with customers
  • Handle billing inquiries, invoices, cancellations, refunds, and plan upgrades
  • Conduct collections and collaborate with operations on past due receivables
  • Maintain customer info in Stripe and prepare AR aging schedules

Other

  • Performing ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed such as participating in month-end close.
  • Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures to gain efficiency in the function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
