Description:

A Mechanical (Mechanical, Plumbing, Gas & Firefighting) Engineer is responsible for overseeing all mechanical aspects of construction projects, ensuring that systems are designed, installed, and commissioned according to the project requirements and the developer’s standards. This role involves managing the entire mechanical process, from design coordination to installation and testing, ensuring that all systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall construction project. The Mechanical Engineer acts as the primary liaison between the developer, main consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that all mechanical systems meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Job Description for Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Implement the site supervision quality procedures, and review submission requirements of the project, along with the MEP contractor.
  • Review all construction documents and highlight any design and contractual discrepancies with the concerned PM/RE.
  • Ensure that all statutory authority NOC’s / permits / design approvals are available on site for construction.
  • Ensure that the main contractor and nominated MEP contractor coordinate with all concerned authorities’ departments and ensure that their requirements are adequately and satisfactorily incorporated.
  • Extend the maximum possible effort to avoid contractor(s) claims for cost and/or delay.
  • Review and forward any comments on all submittals including contractor design drawings, shop drawings, materials and alternative proposals submitted by contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to optimize mechanical designs for efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all Mechanical-related activities on-site.
  • Ensure that mechanical installations are carried out according to the project timeline.
  • Implement and maintain strict quality control procedures to ensure that all mechanical installations meet the highest standards.
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems are tested and commissioned according to industry standards and project requirements.
  • Manage contract variations and change orders, ensuring that any changes to the mechanical scope are documented and approved by the developer.
  • Handle any disputes or claims related to mechanical installations, working to resolve issues efficiently.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Requirements:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in MEP management.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale mechanical installations, with a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and sustainable systems.
  • Experience working in Dubai, with a thorough understanding of local regulations, building codes, and industry practices.
