Overview
The Accounting Specialist’s focus will be on the accounting of high volume Household Goods Services. The specialist will perform the invoicing, driver payment, 3rd Party Invoice payment and month-end reconciliation for HHG domestic and warehousing services to ensure all revenue is captured in the correct period. Will also be responsible for the timely processing of driver payments, billing of HHG invoicing, shipment rate calculations and will assist various team members with special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
Invoicing, reporting and collections
- Month-end close, WIP Accrual compilation and reporting
- Sales commission and job cost entry (A/P & Payroll)
- Complete knowledge of applicable contract rates
- Shipment calculations (rating) – Interstate and Intrastate
- Local, Military, Interstate, International, GSA and State Dept. invoicing
- Job costing analysis and billing inquiry and research
- Use of Syncada and DPS – Web based electronic fund transfer tools
- Driver manifest preparation and contractor settlements
- Multiple special projects as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Billing experience (Must).
- Strong basic math skills
- Must be very organized and detail oriented
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Advanced computer skills including MS Excel, Windows, Word and Outlook
- Job-costing experience is preferred
- Industry Experience is a plus
- Positive attitude, highly motivated, and ability to work well with a diverse group of internal and external customers is required
- Government, Military, and/or International A/R or A/P experience is helpful
- Great Plains experience is preferred
