Description:
CorVel Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its finance team in a fully remote capacity. This role focuses on maintaining general ledger accounts and handling financial transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The position requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate will be involved in a variety of accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting support. Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and complete monthly journal entries in the general ledger, including standard and non-standard entries
• Perform balance sheet and fixed asset account reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Process accounts receivable write-offs and refunds
• Set up new vendors within the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable system
• Assist with budgeting, fixed assets, taxes, audit preparation, and system testing
• Work on special projects, ad-hoc reports, and assigned accounting tasks
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and operational information
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a professional environment
• Strong understanding of accounting procedures and GAAP principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting systems
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of:
• General ledger accounting and financial reconciliation
• Accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Financial reporting and compliance standards
