Description:

Spektrix is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Global Payroll Specialist to join its People team. This role is responsible for managing payroll operations across multiple international regions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll for employees located in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal.

Reporting directly to the VP of People, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal People and Finance teams as well as external payroll providers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-region environment and is passionate about delivering a seamless payroll experience.

The position also offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and payroll-related initiatives that improve operational efficiency and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 250 employees across multiple regions

• Handle bi-weekly payroll for US and Canada employees

• Process monthly payroll for UK, Australia, and Portugal-based employees

• Ensure accurate payroll deductions, reconciliations, and reporting of employee withholdings

• Support leave of absence (LOA) payroll calculations in coordination with HR teams

• Act as the main point of contact for payroll-related queries via inbox and internal communication channels

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations

• Maintain payroll registrations, filings, and updates across all jurisdictions

• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate onboarding and payroll setup for new hires

• Administer pension and retirement plans including 401(k), UK Pension, Canadian Pension, and Australian Superannuation

• Prepare payroll reports and support audit requirements with documentation and data

• Identify and implement improvements in payroll processes and systems

• Support ad hoc payroll projects and operational initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Payroll or HR/People Operations role

• Experience managing payroll in either the US or UK is required

• Exposure to multi-country payroll operations is highly preferred

• Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance, and regulations

• Experience using HRIS platforms (Deel experience is a plus)

• Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and web-based systems

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

• Adaptability to evolving payroll systems and regulatory updates
