Commercial & Marketing Director – Pharmaceutical

Job Responsibilities:

  • This role oversees business development, marketing, and brand building activities across all the business segments and geographies and will have direct reports based in UAE and KSA.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing and executing new business opportunities and high-value partnerships to deliver the strategic business agenda.
  • Develop an annual Commercial and marketing budget for all business segments and geographies.
  • Discuss these budgets and plans with each country manager, relevant division head (retail / wholesale) and get buy in prior to finalizing budgets
  • Create a marketing strategy for all businesses that is based on insights available within the business and through cost effective use of market research.
  • Develop practical and implementable advertising and promotion plans in consultation with the Operations Director and relevant Country Managers.
  • Develop strong relations with internal (pharmacists, sales team, country and business managers) and external stakeholders (advertisers, PR agencies, customers etc.) to secure their participation and support for all marketing activities.
  • Manage the design and production of promotional materials that effectively convey the company’s position and unique selling points to target audience and markets.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and performance appraisals of team members to ensure their continuous development.
  • Create a succession and incentive plan for the team to ensure the team is motivated and incentivized to increase revenue generating activities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to healthcare or marketing. MBA in Sales & Marketing would be preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, Marketing and Communications with extensive knowledge on a range of marketing techniques and concepts
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in healthcare sector in the Middle East.
  • Extensive knowledge of brand positioning techniques, product development and marketing strategies.
  • Must have prior experience of working in the Pharmaceuticals, healthcare sector in the Middle East.
