Description:
American Specialty Health is currently seeking a Verification Examiner I to join its Credentialing Department. This remote position plays a key role in verifying practitioner credentials in alignment with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and health plan expectations.
The selected candidate will work in a structured remote environment using company-provided systems and equipment. The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage high-volume verification tasks while maintaining compliance and confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform verification and updates within credentialing systems according to department standards
• Complete primary source verifications (PSV) and ensure accuracy in daily reporting
• Verify professional licenses, sanctions, and disciplinary records through official agencies
• Review Medicare and Medicaid sanctions and regulatory compliance records
• Confirm malpractice insurance and professional liability documentation
• Verify education and employment credentials through authorized institutions
• Communicate with practitioners and external agencies via phone, mail, or email
• Maintain accurate data entry within credentialing systems such as PROMIS
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all organizational policies
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of computer experience including MS Office applications
• Data entry or healthcare administrative experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of:
