Description:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Accountant to become part of a growing organization based in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning.
This position is ideal for a finance professional with extensive accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and hands-on knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT regulations, and ERP systems. The role also involves supporting audits, enhancing financial processes, and mentoring junior accounting team members while contributing to the organization’s overall financial performance
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger while ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities efficiently.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset records.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT regulations, and internal finance policies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation.
• Review payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial performance and investigate reporting variances.
• Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and ERP (Odoo) implementation initiatives.
• Supervise junior accountants, provide guidance, and support daily finance operations.
• Perform additional finance-related responsibilities assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a Senior Accountant position.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
• Experience working with ERP systems; Odoo knowledge is an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in healthcare, clinics, laboratories, or multi-company business environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, audit coordination, finance policies, internal controls, and cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of:
• IFRS financial reporting standards
• UAE VAT regulations and compliance
• ERP systems (especially Odoo) and advanced Microsoft Excel
