Description:
Slice is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Associate to manage end-to-end US payroll operations for a growing workforce of 300+ employees. This role offers an opportunity to take ownership of payroll accuracy, compliance, and process improvements while supporting major payroll and HR system transformations.
The successful candidate will manage payroll processing, benefits deductions, compliance reporting, and payroll system enhancements. This position requires strong analytical skills, payroll expertise, and the ability to collaborate with Finance, HR, and external vendors in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage complete US payroll processing on a biweekly and semi-monthly basis.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and adjustments.
• Validate payroll information including employee changes, new hires, terminations, and timekeeping records.
• Process off-cycle payrolls, retroactive payments, and payroll corrections.
• Manage multi-state payroll compliance, tax withholdings, and registrations.
• Administer employee deductions including benefits, FSA, HSA, and other payroll-related deductions.
• Reconcile 401(k) contributions and support payroll reporting requirements.
• Handle wage garnishments, levies, and child support orders according to regulations.
• Support payroll tax filings, audits, reconciliations, and year-end activities.
• Assist with payroll system migration from UKG Pro to ADP and HRIS integration with HiBob.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes through automation and technology.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Accounting, and external vendors to resolve payroll issues.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in US payroll processing.
• Hands-on experience with UKG Pro or similar payroll systems.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar ADP platforms.
• Strong understanding of US FLSA regulations.
• Experience managing multi-state payroll and hourly/non-exempt employee populations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, lookups, and data validation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of:
• US payroll processing and compliance
• Payroll taxes, deductions, and reconciliations
• Benefits administration and 401(k) contributions
• Payroll systems including UKG Pro and ADP
• HRIS integration and process improvement
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with HiBob or modern HRIS platforms.
• Familiarity with Bswift benefits administration.
• Experience supporting payroll system implementations or migrations.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or similar qualification.
• Knowledge of automation and AI-driven payroll improvements.
