The company is currently hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Stytch fraud prevention team, focusing on building advanced security and detection systems that protect users from fraud, abuse, and malicious activity. This role involves working on cutting-edge device fingerprinting technology and browser-level signal analysis to identify and prevent sophisticated threats.
The position offers a high-ownership environment where engineers work closely with product and engineering leadership to design scalable systems and improve fraud detection capabilities across Twilio’s global platform.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and own fraud detection and prevention systems for Twilio’s Stytch platform
• Build advanced device fingerprinting solutions to detect bots, abuse, and suspicious behavior
• Analyze browser and device-level signals to improve fraud detection accuracy
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical direction and roadmap
• Design scalable architectures and contribute to system design documentation
• Work cross-functionally across Twilio and Stytch engineering teams to integrate platforms
• Improve system reliability, observability, and incident response processes
• Participate in code reviews, technical decision-making, and engineering best practices
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and technical growth
Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience building and operating production-grade systems
• Familiarity with C/C++ and modern programming languages
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and high-quality coding practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work on-call rotation including weekends and holidays
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with JavaScript, Go, or WebAssembly
• Background in reverse engineering, bot detection, or fraud prevention systems
• Experience in offensive or defensive security engineering
• Strong interest in hands-on system building and problem solving
