Description:
Bellwether is seeking a Senior Development Associate to join its remote-first development team. This role supports the organization’s mission of transforming education and helping students furthest from opportunity achieve outcomes that lead to fulfilling lives and stronger communities.
The successful candidate will manage grant reporting processes, support funder relationship systems, maintain accurate development data, and help strengthen the organization’s institutional giving operations. This position works closely with development leaders, program teams, finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective grant management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the complete grant reporting lifecycle, ensuring accurate, high-quality, and timely submissions.
• Collect and organize information from project teams, finance, and leadership to support grant reporting requirements.
• Maintain reporting calendars, funder portals, deadlines, credentials, and submission tracking.
• Track funder interactions, relationship activities, opportunities, and next steps.
• Prepare pipeline summaries and revenue updates for meetings, planning, and reporting purposes.
• Build and maintain grant trackers, templates, documentation, and operational processes.
• Maintain accurate Salesforce records for grants, funders, and opportunities.
• Support grant payment reconciliation and donor acknowledgment processes.
• Research potential institutional funding opportunities and prepare prospect summaries.
• Monitor funder announcements, RFPs, and relevant developments.
• Support team planning, meetings, and organizational development activities.
Requirements:
• 2–4 years of nonprofit development experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience with grant reporting, prospect research, and pipeline coordination.
• Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to create clear narratives from complex information.
• Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders independently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to operational details.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and consistent processes.
• Sound judgment when using AI tools, including reviewing AI-generated content and handling sensitive information responsibly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Salesforce, Claude, or ChatGPT is strongly preferred.
• Education sector and institutional/foundation giving experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
