We’re Hiring | Resident Architect (Remote)
dbt Labs, a pioneer in analytics engineering, is seeking an experienced Resident Architect (RA) to join its Professional Services team. This role focuses on enabling enterprise customers to implement, configure, and optimize dbt, ensuring they can transform raw data into actionable insights while following best practices. RAs are billable to enterprise clients and contribute to dbt Labs’ mission of empowering data developers worldwide. Candidates must be based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead impactful technical projects for enterprise customers, including implementation, troubleshooting, and solutioning MVPs and long-term solutions.
• Provide architecture and design consultation for customer deployments.
• Ensure strategic customers fully adopt dbt products and solutions.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Sales, Solution Architects, Training, and Support.
• Offer feedback to product and engineering teams to prioritize customer requests and resolve engagement-specific issues.
• Develop deep product expertise in dbt within the modern data stack context.
Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience with technical data tooling, preferably in post-sales, consulting, or technical architect roles.
• Expertise in at least one data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience using, deploying, or configuring dbt in enterprise settings.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for analytics contexts.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously, defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
• Willingness to travel approximately 2–4 times per year for customer sessions, team offsites, and company events.
Preferred Qualifications:
• dbt Analytics Engineering Certification.
• Ability to advise on enterprise dbt recommendations and build consensus with clients.
• Experience with traditional enterprise ETL tools such as Informatica, Datastage, or Talend.

Compensation:
• Standard U.S. starting salary: $114,000 – $137,700
• Select locations starting salary: $126,000 – $153,000
• Competitive packages may include equity and performance-based pay.
