Description:

Standard Bots is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations and support the transition of payroll systems from a PEO to Workday Payroll. This full-time remote role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who can manage payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee support in a fast-growing technology environment.

The selected candidate will own payroll processing, support Workday Payroll implementation activities, maintain payroll records, and collaborate with Finance and People Operations teams. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while handling confidential employee information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute full-cycle multi-state payroll in Workday for salaried and hourly employees.

• Process off-cycle payroll runs, terminations, retroactive payments, bonuses, and commission payments.

• Maintain payroll data accuracy, including earnings, deductions, pay groups, work locations, tax elections, garnishments, and direct deposits.

• Track hourly employee time, overtime, shift differentials, and PTO accruals.

• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues accurately and confidentially.

• Support Workday Payroll implementation through testing, configuration validation, parallel payroll runs, and data migration checks.

• Develop payroll procedures, internal controls, checklists, and approval workflows.

• Manage payroll tax registrations, filings, deposits, and compliance requirements.

• Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including tax filings and amendments.

• Administer payroll-related benefits and 401(k) deductions.

• Reconcile payroll with the general ledger and prepare payroll journal entries and accruals.

• Support audits by providing payroll data and reconciliations.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, including multi-state payroll in the U.S.

• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience is required.

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and FLSA classifications.

• Experience with payroll GL mapping, reconciliation, and journal entries.

• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.

• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.

• Ability to handle confidential compensation and employee information.

• Strong written communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Strong knowledge of:
