Description:

Raptor Maps is seeking a Remote Operations Specialist to support safe, reliable, and efficient drone operations across its Sentry network. As an innovative climate technology company focused on advancing the solar energy industry, Raptor Maps develops software solutions that simplify solar asset management through improved data, automation, and robotics.

The Remote Operations Specialist will serve as a key operational leader within the Remote Operations Center (ROC), managing systems, documentation, pilot coordination, and daily operational activities. This role ensures drone missions are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with aviation regulations while maintaining strong communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on drone operations experience, strong decision-making abilities, and the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. The work schedule for this position is Wednesday through Sunday, with most shifts scheduled from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern Time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the ROC Manager on Duty, overseeing daily Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations, pilot assignments, workload prioritization, and operational support.

• Ensure all ongoing BVLOS operations comply with FAA requirements, safety standards, and Raptor Maps operational procedures.

• Prioritize and assign inspection tasks based on resource availability, customer needs, and operational urgency.

• Provide real-time guidance, feedback, and support to active drone pilots across the Sentry network.

• Develop and maintain ROC systems, processes, and operational infrastructure to improve efficiency and visibility.

• Support pilot training, development, and performance improvement through structured feedback and guidance.

• Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ROC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Maintain FAA Part 107 certification and stay updated on FAA regulations, BVLOS developments, and emerging unmanned aircraft technologies.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in drone operations.

• Proven ability to manage multiple operational priorities while demonstrating strong situational awareness and sound judgment.

• Experience creating or maintaining operational systems, SOPs, or compliance documentation within a safety-critical environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance to pilots and coordinate effectively with internal teams.

• Must be located in the contiguous United States and authorized to work in the United States.

Strong knowledge of:

• BVLOS drone operations, unmanned aircraft systems, and aviation safety practices.

• FAA regulations, Part 107 requirements, and drone compliance standards.

• Operational planning, documentation management, and remote operations processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing or operating BVLOS drone missions at scale.

• Familiarity with FlightHub 2 or similar autonomous drone mission planning platforms.

• Background in solar photovoltaic (PV) operations or infrastructure inspection.

• Knowledge of terrain modeling and low-altitude flight planning.

• Experience working in startup or high-growth environments where operational systems were developed from the ground up.

• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent certification with practical knowledge of FAA regulations and BVLOS requirements.

• Experience managing a Remote Operations Center or a similar operational environment.
