CareStream Advisory Group is seeking a skilled Medical Biller & Denial Specialist to join a remote team supporting Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services. Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze insurance claim denials for DME supplies and submit effective written appeals
- Review denied claims for proper coding and make corrections when needed
- Investigate claims without payer responses to ensure they are received and processed
- Identify trends or patterns in denials to prevent future errors proactively
- Collaborate with team members on coding concerns and support training initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Three or more years of experience in DME billing and coding
- Experience with insurance claim collections
- Knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid procedures
- Understanding of DME processes and workflow
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EDI transmission
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to assess claims and appeals effectively
