Description:
Al Madina Group is looking for an experienced and performance-driven Fresh Food Category Manager – Procurement to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for leading the procurement and category management of multiple fresh food divisions, ensuring consistent product quality, competitive sourcing, and strong commercial performance.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the UAE fresh food market, proven expertise in supplier management, and the ability to develop effective sourcing strategies. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and profitability of fresh food categories across multiple retail locations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead procurement and category management for Fruits & Vegetables, Fishery, Butchery, Bakery, and other fresh food categories.
• Develop sourcing strategies to ensure continuous product availability and competitive pricing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating commercial agreements.
• Monitor market trends, seasonal availability, and wholesale pricing to support purchasing decisions.
• Improve profitability through cost optimization, pricing strategies, and margin enhancement.
• Oversee product quality, freshness standards, inventory control, and wastage reduction.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the procurement network.
Requirements:
• Extensive experience in fresh food procurement, sourcing, and category management.
• Strong understanding of the UAE fresh food market, including wholesale markets, pricing trends, seasonal availability, and sourcing channels.
• Proven experience in supplier relationship management, vendor development, and commercial negotiations.
• Expertise in cost optimization, pricing strategies, profitability improvement, and margin management.
• Previous experience in supermarket or hypermarket retail operations within the UAE is highly preferred.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to manage multiple fresh food categories effectively.
