The Engagement Manager – EMEA role sits within the Professional Services organization and focuses on designing and managing outcome-driven customer engagements across the EMEA region. The position plays a key role in shaping enterprise transformation initiatives by translating complex technical requirements into structured, measurable delivery plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead discovery sessions with enterprise clients, program managers, and technical stakeholders to understand business goals and technical requirements
• Design and structure outcome-based professional services engagements aligned with customer success metrics
• Develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs), staffing plans, and implementation roadmaps for complex DevSecOps transformations
• Collaborate with sales, solutions architects, and delivery teams to align engagement strategy and execution plans
• Translate customer needs into clear, actionable implementation frameworks and commercial proposals
• Guide clients through pricing, contracting, procurement processes, and scope negotiations
• Manage escalations effectively to maintain client trust and ensure successful delivery outcomes
• Position GitLab’s services offerings including consulting, training, and success programs to maximize customer value
• Facilitate executive-level discussions, solutioning workshops, and enterprise strategy sessions
• Track engagement performance including bookings, margins, and delivery success metrics
• Contribute insights to improve go-to-market strategies, services offerings, and internal operational processes
• Support cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful onboarding and delivery transition
Requirements:
• Proven experience in structuring and delivering professional services or consulting engagements in enterprise environments
• Strong background in pre-sales solutioning, SOW development, and complex implementation planning
• Deep understanding of DevOps, SDLC, cloud transformation, and enterprise software ecosystems
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to engage senior technical and business leaders
• Excellent negotiation, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working across sales, delivery, and technical teams in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fully remote, asynchronous work environment
• Strong analytical mindset with focus on measurable business and technical outcomes
