Description:
Percepta is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team remotely, contributing to the design, development, and expansion of data strategies supporting Generative AI products. This role focuses on optimizing data processing, storage, retrieval, and integration across the product pipeline while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide thought leadership on architecture and design for Generative AI products
• Serve as SME in technical and functional product aspects and data integrations
• Identify dependencies, issues, scope changes, and track project progress
• Collaborate with ML Engineers, Data Analysts, and Web App/Dashboard Developers to implement feature pipelines and product databases
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and meet data requirements
• Provide technical support during and after product implementation
• Develop and expand data strategy best practices to support Gen AI products
• Engage in continuous professional development in data strategy and AI technologies
Required Skills & Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in software/data engineering roles
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum project planning
• Ability to manage complex data flows, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions
• Experience in source-to-target data mapping, business rule assessment, and data design reviews
• Familiarity with cloud computing, data storage, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Faiss), and MLOps teams
• Experience processing large structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets
• Experience supporting web applications preferred
• Knowledge of batch and real-time processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm) is a plus
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork
