Description:
Structure USA, a nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its finance team. This fully remote position involves maintaining accurate day-to-day financial records while working closely with the Staff Accountant to ensure smooth month-end closing and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate should have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to accurately record financial transactions. Experience with nonprofit accounting, grant funding, and accounting software will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record and categorize daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Code expenses to the appropriate programs, grants, or funding sources.
• Process accounts payable and prepare vendor payments for approval.
• Record incoming funds, including contributions and grant payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions.
• Maintain organized records of receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation.
• Enter payroll data and keep payroll records up to date.
• Prepare routine financial reports and provide records for month-end closing.
• Identify and report discrepancies instead of forcing account balances.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Availability during US Eastern business hours.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Bookkeeping principles and financial record management.
• Bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Accounts payable processes and payroll record maintenance.
• The following qualifications will be an advantage:
• Nonprofit bookkeeping experience, particularly with grant or restricted fund accounting.
• Experience with accounts payable approval workflows.
• AIPB Bookkeeping Certification or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
