Job Summary:

The Benefits and Authorization Specialist plays a critical role in the patient onboarding process. This position is responsible for handling benefit verifications and authorization processing for all new patient referrals efficiently and accurately, ensuring all referrals are completed within expected timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute timely and accurate benefit verifications or authorizations for all incoming patient referrals
  • Collaborate with AVA Supervisor and Manager on special projects or assignments as needed
  • Manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain high productivity and strong attention to detail while managing a high volume of referrals
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by leadership

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not include supervisory duties such as hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, or disciplinary action

Basic Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar or related role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in healthcare or medical billing is preferred
