Parrot Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Avian Care Assistant to join its specialized veterinary team in Dubai. As an avian-exclusive clinic, the facility focuses entirely on the care and treatment of parrots and other exotic bird species, offering a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about avian health and welfare.
The successful candidate will assist with daily patient care, monitoring, feeding, husbandry activities, and clinical support while working closely with veterinarians and the healthcare team. Candidates who have previous experience handling birds or are comfortable working with parrots and exotic avian species will be highly regarded.
This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, organized, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal care within a professional veterinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the daily care and handling of parrots and exotic bird patients
• Support veterinarians during consultations, examinations, and treatments
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report any health concerns
• Perform feeding, husbandry, and routine patient care tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the clinic and patient areas
• Follow cleaning, disinfection, and infection-control procedures
• Ensure accurate handling and restraint of avian patients when required
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient hospital environment
Requirements:
• Experience working with birds or exotic avian species preferred
• Passion for animal welfare and veterinary care
• Hard-working, reliable, and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
• Professional attitude with strong teamwork and communication abilities
• Previous experience in veterinary clinics, aviaries, zoos, wildlife rehabilitation centers, bird breeding facilities, or bird-focused pet stores is highly valued
