Overview:
The Accounting Clerk (IDR) supports the finance function by handling a blend of receivables and payables duties. This position ensures transactions are recorded accurately, processed on time, and handled in line with company policies and applicable regulations.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Process and post incoming payments, prepare deposits and monthly AR reports, and issue credit memos as required.
  • Contact clients to clarify payment discrepancies and gather remittance details.
  • Research and respond to client inquiries about outstanding balances and payment issues.

Accounts Payable:

  • Process vendor invoices, manage refunds and correct erroneous or duplicate payments.
  • Investigate refund transactions and work toward timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor profile data, prepare and execute check runs, and escalate unresolved disputes to the Accounting Manager.

General Duties:

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting tasks and provide audit support documentation.
  • Maintain organized billing and accounting files while ensuring confidentiality and security of financial records.
  • Perform clerical tasks including answering phones, filing, scanning and photocopying.
  • Carry out other assignments as requested by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; one year of on-the-job accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong numeric ability — able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals; compute rates and percentages.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; comfortable using multiple software programs and web tools.
  • High attention to detail and proven accuracy in entering financial information.
  • Good communication skills, ability to follow instructions and work independently while managing time effectively.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, stay focused under distractions, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and ability to adapt to change.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform routine computer work, with occasional bending or stretching.
  • Adequate vision to read screens and documents and sufficient hearing/speaking to communicate by phone.
  • Workload may vary; periods of higher activity and stress will occur.
