Description:
A well-established Steel and Metals Trading company in the United Arab Emirates is looking for an experienced and motivated Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting background, UAE experience, and expertise in trade finance within a fast-paced business environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, supporting trade finance activities, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and VAT regulations. Candidates with previous experience in the steel and metals trading sector will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare financial statements and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Handle Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs) and support trade finance operations.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Manage accounting transactions using Odoo ERP.
• Draft and review banking and commercial correspondence in English.
• Analyze financial information and provide support for daily accounting operations.
• Work independently while meeting reporting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the United Arab Emirates.
• Practical experience with Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs) and trade finance.
• Proficiency in Odoo ERP.
• Experience preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, and financial closing activities.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Previous experience in the Steel and Metals Trading industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Trade finance and Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs).
• Odoo ERP and financial reporting.
• UAE VAT, accounting principles, and bank reconciliation processes.
