Hiring – Head of Accounting

We’re seeking a qualified individual to fill the Head of Accounting position for a company in the Oil and Gas Industry, located in Dubai.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent
  • Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an external audit firm is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with relevant years within oil trading sector
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards
  • Some knowledge in indirect tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Business and Management to develop strategic plans.
  • Provide financial reports of the company and interpret financial information for management while recommending further courses of action.
  • Oversee and manage operational accounting and management reporting for all entities.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the books and records. Ensure regular review of account reconciliations including follow up and timely closure of open items.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of management, financial and regulatory reporting, and statistical surveys
  • Liaise with external auditors to arrange external auditor’s appointment, statutory audit, and annual financial statements.
  • Preparation of monthly forecast and annual budget.
  • Review business processes to improve and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance of regulatory reporting to regulatory authorities
  • Liaise with internal teams globally to ensure timely corporate tax and VAT filing.
  • Liaise with local tax bureau officials and support all data requirements for their reviews.
  • Work closely with intercompany teams to ensure entity structure is appropriately operationalized.
  • Coach and develop employees in a continuously changing environment. Empower employees to execute tasks independently.
