Hiring – Head of Accounting
We’re seeking a qualified individual to fill the Head of Accounting position for a company in the Oil and Gas Industry, located in Dubai.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent
- Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred.
- Prior experience in an external audit firm is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with relevant years within oil trading sector
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards
- Some knowledge in indirect tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Business and Management to develop strategic plans.
- Provide financial reports of the company and interpret financial information for management while recommending further courses of action.
- Oversee and manage operational accounting and management reporting for all entities.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the books and records. Ensure regular review of account reconciliations including follow up and timely closure of open items.
- Responsible for timely delivery of management, financial and regulatory reporting, and statistical surveys
- Liaise with external auditors to arrange external auditor’s appointment, statutory audit, and annual financial statements.
- Preparation of monthly forecast and annual budget.
- Review business processes to improve and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure compliance of regulatory reporting to regulatory authorities
- Liaise with internal teams globally to ensure timely corporate tax and VAT filing.
- Liaise with local tax bureau officials and support all data requirements for their reviews.
- Work closely with intercompany teams to ensure entity structure is appropriately operationalized.
- Coach and develop employees in a continuously changing environment. Empower employees to execute tasks independently.
