Role Description

This is a full-time Design Manager role based in Dubai. The Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design team, leading design projects, developing design concepts, managing design budgets, and communicating with clients. Additionally, the Design Manager will ensure the on-time completion of design projects, overseeing the design process from concept to delivery while utilizing BIM technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the design management plan.
• Manage the entire design process.
• Create a design responsibility matrix to clarify the roles and responsibilities of architects and engineers.
• Supervise design team activities, and monitor and control the design schedule(s).
• Review design team and consultant deliverables to ensure they comply with the project brief and client requirements.
• Supervise the preparation of all technical documentation needed for construction tender packages.
• Conduct project meetings at least once a week with the team and managers.
• Provide feedback, advice, project updates, and encouragement to team members.
• Manage deadlines and ensure the team meets them.
• Responsible for delivering mixed-use, residential, and hospitality developments.
• Involved throughout the project lifecycle, from bidding and strategic planning to packaging, procurement, design, and construction stages.

Requirements

• Expertise in design principles, practices, and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of designers and creative professionals.
• Proven experience in overseeing and directing design projects.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and efficiently manage multiple design projects concurrently.
• Proficiency in BIM design software, including Revit and Navisworks.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in design management across various projects in the UAE Design Industry.
