Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role will play a key part in preparing financial statements, managing accounts, and assisting with audits to support the organization’s financial health and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring invoices are processed, payments are made on time, and outstanding receivables are collected.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure cash balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, ensuring employee wages, taxes, and benefits are correctly calculated and distributed.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts, tracking actual performance against budgeted figures.
- Audit Support: Prepare necessary documentation and assist during audits to ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with applicable standards.
- Financial Analysis: Provide analysis and insights on financial data to help improve business performance and decision-making.
- Internal Controls: Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP, Tally, SAP) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations is a plus.
- CPA certification (or progress towards) is a plus.
