Hiring Sr. Quantity Surveyor

Position Overview:

Your primary role will be to oversee and manage the financial aspects of our construction projects. You will work closely with project teams to ensure that projects are completed within budget and in compliance with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather project specifications and requirements.
  • Utilize your expertise to create accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
  • Continuously refine cost estimation processes based on industry standards and project feedback.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in developing project budgets that reflect accurate cost estimates and align with project goals.
  • Monitor project expenditures against budget allocations and identify any discrepancies.

Procurement and Contracts:

  • Work closely with procurement teams to source materials, services, and subcontractors in line with project specifications and budget constraints.
  • Participate in the negotiation and preparation of contracts, purchase orders, and subcontracts, ensuring clear terms and conditions.

Measurement and Valuation:

  • Conduct on-site measurements of completed work to determine progress and facilitate accurate payment to contractors.
  • Prepare comprehensive valuation reports that document completed work, variations, and additional work orders.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to cost, schedule, and contract deviations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Regularly assess risks and adapt strategies based on evolving project conditions.

Cost Control and Reporting:

  • Implement cost control measures to prevent budget overruns and maintain project profitability.
  • Generate timely and accurate financial reports, including cost forecasts, cost-to-complete analyses, and earned value reports.
  • Analyse cost trends and provide insights to project teams for informed decision-making.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Accreditation: Membership in a recognized professional body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
  • Skills: Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills, along with proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Ongoing training and education to stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
