Shipping Operations Assistant- Dubai UAE

Job Description:

• Assist under supervision, liaison with Masters, Owners, and Agents for vessel sailing.
• Monitoring of vessels position and performance in daily basis
• Sending daily notice (ETA) to agent and charterer’s
• Preparing daily movement report for all vessels for internal purposes
• Checking and validating B/L, Mate’s Receipt,
• Cargo Manifest and Letter of Indemnity (LOI) for switching BL, signing BL and Delivering the Cargo without production of OBL to charter’s
• Notify Master for the switch Bs/L and LOI’s if necessary.
• Appointing or nominating Load Port and Discharge Port Agent for smooth transactions between the vessels.
• Requesting and negotiating PDA to load and discharge port agents
• Reviewing all per-arrival documents from the Master before sending to port agents
• Preparing all per-arrival documents if Master unable to do while sailing.
• Coordinating to Master for documents required by the port authority prior arrival
• Liase with agent for fresh water quotation and arrange supply to the vessels.
• Calculating Lay-time (dispatch / demur-rage) for load and discharge port
• Checking and monitoring cargo quantity onboard (daily sheet report)
• Arranging boat with port agent when vessels calling different ports in UAE for receiving provisions, bunkers and maintenance purposes.

Qualification:

• Having basic knowledge of shipping
• Having experience of shipping documents such as B/L, M/R , Manifest and any kind of shipping documents.
• Attending to emails.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Photoshop applications.
• An eye for attention to detail
• Able to work in a team.
