Hiring Senior Traffic Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Traffic Engineer to join our transportation engineering team. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing traffic flow and transportation systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address traffic-related challenges and improve mobility, safety, and efficiency within urban and suburban environments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct traffic studies and analyses to evaluate existing conditions, identify issues, and propose solutions.
• Develop traffic models using software such as VISSIM to simulate traffic patterns and evaluate the impact of proposed improvements.
• Design signalized intersections, traffic signals, signage, and pavement markings to optimize traffic flow and enhance safety.
• Implement traffic control measures, such as signal timing adjustments, lane configurations, and traffic calming measures.
• Coordinate with transportation planners, civil engineers, and public agencies to integrate transportation projects into overall urban planning initiatives.
• Perform capacity analyses for roadways, intersections, and transportation facilities.
• Conduct safety assessments and recommend improvements to reduce traffic accidents and fatalities.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Stay current of emerging technologies, research findings, and industry trends in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
• Provide technical expertise and support during public meetings, hearings, and community outreach efforts.

 Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering Registration is desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
• Proficiency in traffic analysis and modeling software, such as Sidra, Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, or VISUM.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, traffic control devices, and transportation planning concepts.
• Familiarity with transportation standards and guidelines (e.g., HCM).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
