Description:

Bayaty Architects is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team of experts based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This position is responsible for overall scheduling, planning, developing design and specifications and other required documents related to structural design as well as mentoring junior engineers.

We anticipate the right candidate to be able to:

• Carry out structural design on wide range of building types using variety of systems and materials.
• Provide technical solutions to design problems as they evolve including a backup for construction supervision.
• Provide design review of all works performed by the team members including Contractor’s submittals.
• Oversee and provide coordination support with other disciplines.
• Ensure correctness and accuracy of own work and the work of his/her design teams. Confirm works are completed within the project baseline program.
• Take responsibility for Client, Contractor, Sub-Consultants fronting during technical meetings.
• Provide technical support and guidance for structural engineers and BIM technicians.
• Have a strong understanding of building structures, their stability and load transfer systems and be able to analyze them according to their complexity.
• Initiate independently viable concept and preliminary designs for various types of buildings using conventional, post-tensioned, pre-cast concrete, structural steel, timber, and masonry.
• Have strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, time management and business writing skills.
• Manage design teams across a variety of small to medium size projects or single team on large scale project.
• To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 15 years’ post-graduation work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Working knowledge in the use of the following structural design packages – ETABS, SAFE, SAP, STAAD.
• Knowledgeable in concrete and steel structures design. Experience in pre-cast design is an advantage; with working knowledge in the use of American Design codes.
• Member of a recognized Association / Institution of Engineers. Candidates having Dubai or Abu Dhabi municipality license will be preferred favorably.
