Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer
Department: Onshore Operations
Reporting to: Onshore Maintenance Superintendent
Job Purpose
Monitor the operation, maintenance, health, condition, and performance of rotating equipment. Recommend interventions or operational changes as required to meet business goals
Key Result Areas
Provide direct operation support for the maintenance and operations of rotating equipment
Responsible to understand, assess, and communicate risk of process safety hazards inherent to high-speed rotating equipment and for operations risk assessment for this equipment
Monitor Company and contractor work in process on mechanical equipment to ensure personnel safety by applying company safety procedures and policies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 15 years rotating equipment experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Experience
- Practical experience with hands-on working knowledge of high-speed rotating equipment including centrifugal gas compressors, aero-derivative and industrial gas turbines and high-pressure Centrifugal Pumps.
- Should have worked with a consultant or operating company involving high speed rotating equipment with gas turbine and centrifugal gas compressor experience.
- Proficient with all aspects of lube oil testing, analysis, and remediation technics.
- Proficient with vibration monitoring, data collection, analysis, interpretation of results.
- Proficient with Borescope inspections of gas turbines and in interpretation of results.
- Ability to evaluate process data to assess actual efficiency, operating point, and performance of turbines, compressors, and pumps.
- Other Skills
- Ability to interact with and influence peers. Ability to relate and communicate with Mechanics, Operators, Supervisors, Engineers, Consultants, and Managers. Teamwork is a must.
- Understands threats to business continuity and consequences of unavailability and loss of performance.
- Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills
