Senior Concept Design Architect – Hospitality and Resort Design
Godwin Austen Johnson (GAJ) are looking for a Senior Architect to be based in their Dubai head office. Applicants must have experience in hospitality and resort planning and mixed used master planning with at least 10-15 years’ experience – preference shall be given to those who are available immediately.
Applicants are required to submit an extensive portfolio of designed as well as-built works and should be available for a technical skills-set evaluation with a portfolio – especially hotel and resort design concept projects – that covers a range of projects from initial master planning up to construction documentation in the mixed-use, hospitality, leisure, education, commercial and health services sectors.
Successful candidates will be expected to be able to establish, maintain and develop relationships with key project stakeholders, interface with clients and prepare and present projects at board level stakeholder meetings. They will also be required to undertake design management leadership, acting as project design lead or project component delivery lead, leading the GAJ in-house design team. This also includes sub-consultant interaction, coordination and management, within the framework of the respective project scope of services including the coordination of infrastructure and utility services.
This role will require design and technical leadership of a multidisciplinary design team, requiring appropriate knowledge of the scope of services and quality of interactive deliverables required from each discipline in the drive to support the client’s and GAJ’s architectural vision of the projects.
Individuals in this leadership role will be required to respond to client objectives and handle general problem-solving to obtain stakeholder consent as well as the ability to direct these to the project team for implementation within the design development process. Individuals should be fully conversant with the use of architectural software such as 3D Sketch-Up, Photoshop, AutoCad, Revit (BIM). Individuals should have the appropriate experience to review work produced by the team under their guardianship and design direction.
