Hiring Senior Accountant

Department: Finance and Accounting

Direct Report to: Chief Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates accounting professionals, entry level accounting & support staff
  • Maintains the integrity of the G/L and Trial Balance and ensures that transactions are accurately booked into the accounting system.
  • Generates various system reports or audits calculations and ensures accuracy, e.g., billing, payroll processing, and accounts payable etc.
  • Maintains and reconciles all accounts.
  • Plans, manages, coordinates, and implements the month end and year end closing processes and procedures for all accounting records.
  • Ensures adherence to IFRS & generally accepted accounting standards and principles; ensures maintenance of proper audit trails and verification and reconciliation actions for all processed work.
  • Coordinates other activities and with other work departments as and when needed.

Job KPI:

  • Ensure proper and timely financial reporting
  • Ensure cash and bank management
  • Create budget template and ensure monthly budgeting exercise
  • Ensure fixed asset management and financial reporting
  • Ensure audits are completed in a timely manner

Experience Year/Area:

  • CMA/CPA/ACCA/MBA Finance with 5+ years of UAE experience.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Odoo, Oracle).
  • MS Office (Advance level in MS Excel).
  • VAT & Corporate Tax experience.
  • Expert in Consolidation & Reconciliation.
  • Knowledge & Experience of the sports sector and hospitality industry are preferable.
  • Supervise a staff comprised of entry level professionals engaged in carrying out departmental functions
  • Knowledge of IFRS, generally accepted standard accounting principles, established policies, procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.
