Hiring Security Engineer – CIS Controls and Microsoft Defender
Expertise
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the security and compliance of our IT infrastructure, cloud services, and network devices by applying the Center for Internet Security (CIS) controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity with experience in monitoring and managing security alerts across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
CIS Benchmarks Implementation:
- Apply CIS benchmarks for operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) to ensure best practices in security configurations.
- Implement CIS benchmarks for cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) to maintain secure cloud environments.
- Apply CIS benchmarks for network devices, applications, and other critical components to protect our infrastructure.
Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Monitor security alerts generated by Microsoft Defender for Cloud and execute corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Continuously monitor security alerts in Microsoft 365 (M365) through Microsoft Defender, responding promptly to potential threats.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to enforce security best practices and corrective actions across the organization.
Security Audits and Compliance:
- Regularly audit system configurations against CIS benchmarks and other relevant standards.
- Ensure continuous compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
- Recommend and implement improvements to security monitoring processes and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in implementing and managing CIS controls across various platforms (Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure).
- Expertise in using and configuring Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft 365 security tools.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM solutions, and log analysis.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst) are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
