Hiring Secretary

Candidate will assume the duty for general staff matters, office administration, human resources, projects, events, memberships and other related activities to support all programs and the overall corporate strategy and KPIs.

The ultimate role is to enable, facilitate and drive the overarching strategy of the organization. Build capacity, strengthen weaknesses, eliminate inefficiencies and identify operational and admin issues and implement solutions. Operational readiness and human capital engagement into the strategy is core to this role.

The job scope shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Work as part of a team, to ensure the effective running of the organization through allocated tasks and deliverables
  • Facilitate staff meetings and ensure the minutes are recorded with relevant staff responsibilities arising out of the discussions to ensure timely deliverables
  • Prepare correspondence as per the instructions of the Chairperson
  • Attend meetings whenever required along with the Chairperson and prepare the minutes accordingly
  • Work with the Project Executive and Waste Management Department to advise on ways in which to use social media to maximum effect when trying to grow existing business and new business
  • Be proactive in supporting the membership ‘sales’ strategy with a purpose of increasing memberships across all categories
  • Participate in exhibitions and career/trade fairs when required.
  • Participate in all EEG’s annual calendar of events, ensuring social media sites are properly used to highlight EEG’s active engagement and participation, throughout the year.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven work experience as Secretary or Administrative Assistant
  • Familiarity with office organization and optimization techniques
  • High degree of multi-tasking and time management capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Integrity and professionalism
  • Proficiency in MS Office
