Hiring Sea Freight Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Sea Freight Manager to manage our sea freight shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role involves coordinating and overseeing the entire sea freight process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage sea freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other third-party service providers to arrange bookings and secure space on vessels.
• Prepare and review all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs declarations.
• Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Handle any issues or discrepancies that arise during the shipping process, working to resolve them promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments and related activities in the company’s logistics management system.
• Negotiate freight rates and service contracts with carriers and service providers to optimize cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and trade laws.
• Collaborate with other departments, including warehousing, transportation, and customer service, to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sea freight shipping or a similar role within the logistics industry.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and service providers.
• Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
