HIRING Part-time Royalties Accountant

Brandt & Hochman Literary Agents, Inc. is a full-service traditional literary agency whose work representing authors’ interests has spanned over a hundred years, and continues into the digital age.

Our agency is seeking a part-time experienced accounting professional to work several days per week in our NYC office, but possibly remotely, to assist our royalties and accounting manager and to periodically assist our controller on special accounting projects. Ideally 15-18 hours per week.

Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

acting as the primary accounting processor for film monies, foreign monies, small press monies, and permissions monies;
collecting and tracking royalty statements, separating out monies due individual clients and processing those monies for payment, gathering supporting detail when necessary;
filing royalty statements and payment advices on the company server;
sending earned and unearned statements to clients;
assisting in tracing and identifying unidentified payments;
Answering questions from office staff as well as clients about statements and payments.
Candidates should have good written and spoken communication skills and must be able to work independently and in an efficient and productive manner and be able to handle inquiries from clients as well as colleagues.
Preferred Technical Knowledge:
working knowledge of the Baits system is a huge plus;
proficiency in Excel;
ability to create, save, and organize PDF files;
experience with publishers’ portals to access royalty statements;
